Transgender Teen Runs For Homecoming Queen

What are all your thoughts on this situation?  Clearly students voted for her to be nominated so that shows you that people don't care that she's transgender.  I just think the main issue is the principal.  It is her first year as being a principal so maybe she's just scared as to what people are gonna think about all of this.  Deep down she probably supports her running for homecoming queen but on the other hand she probably feels like she has to show people that she won't let her students do such a thing because it's not "normal".

  1. That reminds me of a girl that I went to high school with who wanted to be in the Mr. Saugus High, even though she was a girl! Here's the website if you want to check it out. It caused a bunch of chaos that month.

  3. why should it even matter, any PERSON should be allowed to run, she sees herself as a female and if i saw her on the street i wouldnt think anything different, i dont see what the big deal is they should let her do it

  4. I would let her run for homecoming queen, because if everyone else see's her as a female, then what is wrong with making her the homecoming queen.

  8. Anyone see GLEE last week where Kurt Hummel (openly gay student) was elected Prom Queen? It was an act of meanness from his peers (he wasn't running), but he made it into something strong. Interesting.
